Change to processing location for Afghani family migration applications from clients in Afghanistan and Pakistan

Location of processing

From 4 January 2009 all partner migration applications from Afghani clients who live in Afghanistan or Pakistan will be processed in the Australian Consulate-General in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. From 1 March 2009 all Child and Other family migration applications from Afghani clients who live in Afghanistan or Pakistan will also be processed in Dubai.

Clients have the option of lodging their application directly with Dubai or at their nearest immigration office.

The department’s office in Dubai will provide an efficient processing environment for all family migration applications from Afghani clients in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Where to lodge your application

Partner migration applications lodged prior to 4 January 2009

All partner migration applications being lodged prior to 4 January 2009 should be lodged with the office in Islamabad.

Partner migration applications lodged on or after 4 January 2009

All partner migration applications being lodged on or after 4 January 2009 should be lodged with the office in Dubai or at the client’s nearest immigration office.

Child and Other Family migration applications lodged prior to 1 March 2009

All Child and Other Family migration applications being lodged prior to 1 March 2009 should be lodged with the office in Islamabad.

Child and Other Family migration applications lodged on or after 1 March 2009

All Child and Other Family migration applications being lodged on or after 1 March 2009 should be lodged with the office in Dubai or at the client’s nearest immigration office.

Applications lodged before 4 January 2009 (partner) or 1 March 2009 (other family)

Partner

If you lodge your application before 4 January 2009, it will be receipted by the office in Islamabad and transferred to Dubai for finalisation.

Child and Other Family

If you lodge your application before 1 March 2009, it will be receipted by the office in Islamabad and transferred to Dubai for finalisation.

Please note, Dubai will not be able to answer queries on applications before 4 January 2009 (for partner) and 1 March 2009 (for other family).
